Key Findings
National Public Affairs recently completed a survey of likely Republican primary voters in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District (see methodology statement at conclusion of document). Despite constant attacks, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and former President Donald Trump remain wildly popular among the district’s GOP base. In fact, after Congresswoman Taylor Greene worked to secure Kevin McCarthy the speakership in January, the data shows she was also able to transfer her popularity to him. Additionally, despite nearly 100% name ID and strong favorability for both President Donald Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis, President Trump is the overwhelming favorite to be the 2024 GOP nominee among likely Republican primary voters in GA-14.
Despite years of attacks, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and President Donald Trump are both extremely popular among likely Republican primary voters in GA-14.
Congresswoman Taylor Greene’s popularity is strong among the GOP base within her district. Her favorability is not only at 70% (versus just 21% unfavorable), but the majority of respondents have overwhelmingly positive opinions when asked to describe their view of her. Both President Trump and Congresswoman Taylor Greene perform even better among middle-aged, blue collar and religious voter demographics.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s constituents view her as a leader in the Republican party – a view further solidified by helping secure Kevin McCarthy his speakership.
Congresswoman Taylor Greene’s support of Speaker McCarthy boosted his image in GA-14 where he now enjoys a favorability of 70%. Among those with a favorable view of Speaker McCarthy, 77% give Congresswoman Taylor Greene a high support rating since she’s been in Washington.

Additionally, despite both President Trump and Governor DeSantis having nearly 100% name ID, and almost unanimously positive image ratings, President Trump is overwhelmingly favored to be the 2024 GOP nominee in GA-14.

41% of likely Republican primary voters say they are planning to vote for President Trump compared to just 29% who support Governor DeSantis (Nikki Haley significantly trails with just 5%).

Methodology
The sample size for the survey is 319 likely Republican primary voters in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District. Interviews were collected via landlines, SMS/text messaging to web and online panel. The margin of error is +/- 5.5%. Interviews were conducted February 11-16th, 2023.
